Dorina Jotti was born in Zurich, Switzerland and now lives in Auckland, New Zealand. She is a full time lecturer in photography at Unitec's School of Design and Visual Arts. Dorina Jotti uses a variety of mediums in her art practice, including photo etching, printmaking, moving image, 19th Century photographic processes and photography. She prefers working collaboratively and has exhibited both nationally and internationally since 1990.
Artist Statement: I am interested in issues concerning colonization particularly with regard to women and the land. Other interests include Zen philosophy and Buddhist teachings; both are influencing the concepts and aesthetics in my work.
